Why this meditation helps
Overthinking often feels like mental traffic. Meditation teaches you to sit beside the road rather than run after every vehicle.
A simple practice
Settle your body. Let the eyes soften. Take one breath in through the nose and one longer breath out. Say quietly: “I can meet this moment with steadiness.”
For the next few minutes, place attention on the breath leaving the body. When thoughts arrive, do not argue with them. Notice, soften, and return.
End by asking: What is the kindest next step?
Practices to explore
- Clouds of thought
- Return to sound
- Write then breathe
- One thought at a time
Use it daily
For best results, practise briefly and consistently. One sincere minute each day is better than waiting for perfect conditions.
